Thane,Jul 01:A six-year-old girl was thrown by her father and his friend into the Ulhas river near the Walivli bridge at Badlapur on Wednesday night. Fortunately, she controlled to hang onto water hyacinth plants and placed afloat for over 11 hours, until she was rescued on Thursday.
The girl identified as Ekta Tulsiram Siani, a resident of Vartak Nagar in Thane was rescued by 6:45 am but the police came at 7:45 am, after the rescue.
Mumbai/Nashik, June 2: The cruel Virginity test of caste panchayat has created shockwaves across Maharastra. A 20-year-old girl from Ahmednagar district has placed on house arrest by her own father along with the her mother after she fails "Virginity test". The girl's father finds this as a fitting punishment after the duo attempted to make a police complaint about the incident. Their mobiles was ceased and both are kept unofficially in house for more than a week.
On May 22nd, the girl married a 25 year old man from Nashik. Both belong to the same Kanjarbhat community and this is the second marriage for him. The community had their own constitution which they follow over decades, so whatever the punishment for the crime would be declared by their own Panchayat.
