A 20 year old woman was kidnapped and gang-raped by at least four men in a moving car throughout the night on Sunday at Salt Lake, the upmarket township in Kolkata. She was thrown out of the car near a bus stop in the morning. A taxi driver who passed by, found her and took her to the police station.
The woman has told the police that she had come to Sector 5 in Salt Lake, which houses several IT offices, at around 11:30 pm last night to get something to eat. When the women was little lost of her path, she asked a man for directions. But, the man was speaking on the phone who didn't respond to her and she walked away.

Officials said the peaceful polling recorded an average turnout of 97 percent.
