Hitachi’s Advanced IT are Modernizing Japanese Agriculture
Over the years, Hitachi has provided Japan with many advanced IT that have helped modernize its agriculture sector. For example, Hitachi’s GeoMation Farm is an information management system that allows farmers to access critical information about land and crops - and helps farmers determine the best time to harvest. In 2013, Hitachi made a cooperative agreement with a new agricultural venture business, Granpa Corporation, whereby cloud services are provided to users of air-filled, high-tech greenhouses. Called Granpa Domes, the cloud helps producers manage the entire agriculture process from planting to processing to marketing. Hitachi’s tools for Smart Agriculture are helping to revitalize local communities and to accelerate Japan’s integrated agriculture.
