Islamabad, Nov 5 : At least 18 people were killed and over 70 others injured late Wednesday after a four-storey building of a factory collapsed in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore, local media and officials said.
"The rescue workers have so far retrieved 16 dead bodies while at least 40 injured have been taken to hospitals," Usman, the city's top administration official who was coordinating the response to the disaster, said.

Jammu, Nov 5 : The strategic Jammu-Srinagar, Srinagar-Leh and some other highways in Jammu and Kashmir were closed on Thursday following heavy rains and fresh snowfall in the area.
"Heavy rains during the last 24 hours have triggered landslides and shooting stones in Ramsoo and Magarkote areas of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district," a senior official of the traffic department here told IANS, adding "This has forced closure of the highway."

Washington, Nov 4 : After two straight days of deliberation, a US federal Jury has sought another day to debate the case against an Alabama police officer charged with slamming an Indian grandfather to the ground and leaving him severely injured last February.
The jury told US District Judge Madeline Hughes Haikala in federal courthouse in Huntsville Tuesday afternoon that they could not reach consensus in the case against Madison Police Officer Eric Parker, 27, for assaulting Sureshbhai Patel, according to Al.com.
New Delhi, Nov 3 : State-run Indian Oil Corp (IOC) on Tuesday reported a net loss of Rs.329.17 crore in the second quarter ended September caused by major inventory and foreign exchange losses as well as low refining margins.
IOC had posted a net loss of Rs.898.46 crore in the same period last year.
