Washington, April 15 : Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that it was time to sharpen the focus on public investment and work towards reviving global trade.

"We feel that the efficacy of monetary policy instruments has reached its limits and that its pass-through has not been seamless. The time is ripe for a re-evaluation of the fiscal policy space, with a greater focus placed on public investment," the minister said here.

The sources said two youth identified as Muhammad Iqbal, 24 and Nayeem Qadir Bhat, 22, were killed allegedly in army firing on a violent mob in Handwara town.

New Delhi, April 7 : Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Thursday said bilateral talks between India and Pakistan were "suspended" and that there was no question of allowing an NIA team to visit Islamabad for the Pathankot probe.

However, the Ministry of External Affairs cited the Pakistan foreign ministry spokesperson saying that both sides were in contact with each other over foreign secretary level talks. Ahmedabad, April 7 : Four people in a car were killed on Thursday in Gujarat's Bharuch district when the vehicle was hit by speeding luxury bus after being hit by an unknown vehicle from the rear with such force that it was knocked over the road divider, police said.

While three died on the spot, one succumbed in hospital later. The accident occurred near near Hankari Navetha village on Dahej-Bharuch road in the south Gujarat district on Thursday.
