Pasta with Cheese and Croutons
Boil the pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente. Melt three tablespoons of butter in a skillet. Add garlic and fry for 30 seconds. Then throw in crushed crackers and fry the mixture for 3-5 minutes stirring frequently.
In the same pot you boiled the pasta in, melt four tablespoons of butter. Add in the flour. Reduce the heat and cook for one minute, stirring. Gradually pour in milk and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently until the sauce has thickened. Mix the sauce with cheese, pepper, and salt to taste. Place the pasta in the prepared baking dish, pour in the sauce, and sprinkle with toasted breadcrumbs evenly. Bake for 20 minutes.
