Rio De Janeiro: After the shocking early exit of Saina Nehwal, India's medal hope still goes alive on two time world championship bronze medallist  P.V. Sindhu and  former China open winner Kidambi Srikanth. Both the players gave clinical performance in their respective singles events and enters the quarter-finals in Olympic Badminton competition.

Sindhu showed a dominant performance to beat Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-ying in straight games 21-13, 21-15. While Srikanth defeated Jan Jorgensen of Denmark, 21-19, 21-19.
